I baulked at taking scope and camera on a shopping trip to Carmarthen which was an error.
Toffy wanted a coffee overlooking the lake which produces some good birds for Arfon so we stopped and immediately saw an interesting duck on the far side. Pencarreg has its share of mutant mallards but this was a female long tailed duck! Fortunately my bins are welded to me so no mistake.
Going shopping again tomorrow with all birding kit on board!
