Driving back from Pembrokeshire yesterday afternoon I thought I would try to track down the Starling roost near Mydroilyn, totally unknown territory to me. I was able to follow flights of birds along the network of lanes and found that they were heading to a plantation between Gorsgoch and Mydroilyn. I noticed exactly what MW did (see below).
The numbers of birds was staggering and the impression was of blizzards of Starlings. Chatted to a friendly farmer there who seemed to think that the roost site had recently moved from nearby.
Quite a few Fieldfares in the area and 100 or so Redwings on a meadow at Dihewyd.
