Ynys-hir

Here are my sightings from yesterday, good to see you
The high tide yesterday morning (29 April) came right up to the sea wall giving spectacular close up views of waders from the saltings hide. There were 28 bar tailed godwits some of which were in summer plumage.  About 8 whimbrel were close in and 2 grey plovers were being chased by an oystercatcher. One of the grey plovers was in striking summer plumage and very obvious even from a long distance. There must have been over 100 oystercatchers and good numbers of curlew together with redshank which were displaying. Two barnacle geese were still present and there were 2 sandwich terns out over the estuary.  Also sedge warbler, whitethroat and grasshopper warbler.
