Went up Plyn today hoping for a late dotterel or two. No luck, hav'nt seen one for many years now.
However a dipper on the Maesnant on the way down and better still a short eared owl fooling about with a lesser bb gull high over the slope above Nant y Moch resv and opposite Drosgol. A pair of great crested grebe look as though they are having a go somewhere around the Bwlchstyllen arm of the reservoir, diving for and carrying nest material. Not a single buzzard all day, only a few red kite.
Yesterday in some wilderness above Llandewi Brefi I had 18 whinchat territories in and around a single km square. More than I have ever had on any survey area, think it might be a good year for them as I have had good numbers on other survey squares as well.
That snake on the Foel has been seen by others, not me tho.
