Which is Dan Coed Mawr, Llandysul(where the Green Woodpecker was heard)? There are some lovely looking woodlands in the Teifi valley in this area. Yesterday, approaching from Capel Dewi, I heard Wood Warbler, Pied Flycatcher and Grey Wagtail simply when jumping in and out of my van. I've seen Marsh Tits here previously too and on reflection I also remember seeing a Green Woodpecker about 5 years ago in Llanfihangel ar arth (3m east of Llandysul). Plus the Hobby sightings last year. An interesting area. On another subject; how unusual is it to see a Brimstone butterfly in the county? I've never seen one in Ceredigion but my wife found one trapped in our greenhouse yesterday. The literature I've read suggests they are fairly scarce.
