Ynyslas turn

Having done very little sea watching this autumn, due to a lack of westerlies I was pleasantly surprised at Ynyslas turn this morning. Small groups of manx shearwaters were heading north and occasionally rafting just off-shore. Amongst them at 7.10 am was a very nice Balearic shearwater and at 7.20 a sooty shearwater towered south a bit further off-shore. Also on the sea were good numbers of guillemots and razorbills, a superb summer-plumaged red-throated diver and around 120 gannets.
