ABERYSTWYTH'S STARLINGS

Over the last week or so my girlfriend and I have observed large numbers of Starlings (a few thousand?) coming in to roost in a row of pine trees between the North Road Clinic and rope maze in Aberystwyth. I thought perhaps this was just a pre-roost gathering but they definitely stay after dark and we watched separate smaller flocks coming in to join them as it got dark. Is this roost known? Is it a new roost or has there always been this secondary roost? Perhaps the traditional Pier roost is being abandoned for some reason, possibly the recent high winds? I've not yet been down to the front to see what the Pier roost is doing. Thoughts and ideas welcome!
