If we are lucky with the weather we should see Crossbills (though we only saw 2 there were probably more in there), catch up with a large flock of Siskins feeding on the larch cone seeds and enjoy spectacular views. It is a lovely wood with easy though muddy paths and faces south so if the sun does peep through we'll see it!
On my recce I was minded to do a quick 'elf and safety' assessment and think I should mention for those who have never been here that the Miners' Bridge is narrow and high over a gorge in the Ystwyth. The sides are chest height with thick wire mesh and sturdy uprights so that you won't feel too exposed. It doesn't move/sway either. Apart from that there are a couple of short uphill sections which, taken at birding pace, shouldn't worry anyone.
