Ffostrasol

A cheering sight in the grim weather this morning was that of 5 Yellowhammers at a feeder in Goytre Lane. I last saw wintering birds at this feeder at least 5 years ago I think, and then only very rarely. So it was a nice surprise to see them there again. I don't know this area to walk in but there looks to be quite a bit of gorse and bracken on the open hills of the upper Cerdin valley, below Capel Cynon. Perhaps a small breeding population is hanging on in the vicinity.
