Mwnt & New Quay

With the wind promising to swing around to the north-west today I headed off to Mwnt for first light this morning and in 2.5 hours saw 227 Fulmar, approx. 500 auks (mainly guillemot) approx. 350 kittiwake, 1 gannet, 2 common scoter, 1 black-throated diver, 27 red-throated diver and 1 great northern diver all heading south. On the way home I called into New Quay at about 12ish (must have just missed Andy) and in the space of 5 minutes had 2 great northern and 3 red-throated divers and a single pomarine skua fly by.
