Having failed to find the Great Grey Shrike on a visit last week, the bright sunny morning tempted me to try again.
On arriving at the usual site I was lucky enough to find the bird almost immediately, and with the sun behind me.
Overhead, a party of nine Redpolls and about twenty mixed Fieldfares and Redwings.
Later, scanning through the many Kites, Buzzards and Ravens which were up I was surprised to find a ringtail Hen Harrier to round off the morning.
