Manxies at New Quay

The forecast of a strong WNW wind tempted me to New Quay for an early seawatch.  The fish factory may be malodorous but it is sheltered behind there and quite pleasant in the morning sunshine.
Hardly a bird to be seen for the first 80 minutes or so, except for the local Fulmars, a few auks and three distant Gannets.
Then the first Manx Shearwater appeared:  the start of a light passage of this species and Gannets which lasted for about 20 minutes. There was another small movement during the last half hour of the three hour session and the final counts were :-  Manx Shearwater 22, Gannet 13.
Also passing were 10 Common Scoter, 2 Red-throated Divers and 2 Kittiwakes.
No sign of the dolphins which the Easter holidaymakers will be hoping for, but a passing Harbour Porpoise stayed around for a little while.
