With the first Wheatear on Skokholm and Ramsey yesterday a visit to look for one at Mwnt was a must. No Wheatear found but the number of Stonechat there was remarkable. At least 20 in a 50 minute walk around the head and up the coast.
Over fields nearby was a huge flock of at least 500 Golden Plover.
In the Teifi Estuary, a Red-breasted Merganser is still present. These used to be regular in the winter but this is the only one seen this year.
A Sand Martin was over the Teifi Marsh yesterday evening, first seen on Saturday.
The Welsh Wildlife Centre thank everyone for the help, support and positive messages received following the destruction of Curlew Hide. Donations are still welcome.
