A 1st winter Little Gull flying north was the highlight of a short seawatch from the castle.
It may be worth looking out for others over the next couple of weeks as spring passage has been seen here before, most recently in 2013, when I had 12 1st winters here on 29th March, after which various observers noted up to eight both here and at Ynyslas over the following week, almost all immatures.
There were still 10 Purple Sandpipers roosting on the wall.
