Adult Long tailed Skua- Ynyslas

Patience was the key to a good bird during this short break in Ceredigion. A quiet day has been spent walking around Ynyslas, Borth and Cors Fachno. 2 Whimbrel, 20+ Sanderling, 100 Dunlin and 100 Ringed plover made up the wader numbers with a Common Sandpiper on the Leri. 2 Grasshopper Warblers, Snipe and Teal were on Cora Fachno. The whole area seemed quiet so before heading for home I decided on a seawatch from the Ynyslas turn car park. Gannets, Kittiwakes, Manx shearwaters were expected but a pristine adult Long tailed Skua lazying around offshore was a real bonus. Close enough to see the tail streamers, the bird landed on the sea for a while and was still present when I left mid afternoon.
