More Pied Flys

Re. Ian's note about Pied Flycatchers in his garden in Penrhiwllan. I've also heard one singing several times about 400m from you on the Trebedw road, on the wooded slope below Penrallt Fern. Though not this morning! At the weekend a minimum of 8 pairs were at Denmark Farm Conservation Centre. Song levels have dropped right off so probably missed a few too. I mentioned before that Aline found 13 pairs of Blue Tits in the Dormice boxes at the farm. Perhaps this means there is less competition for the bird boxes and might partly explain the very high density of Pied Flycatchers that always seem to occur at DF?
