Sunday mornings do not get much better than this.Without leaving the house I too
enjoyed a surprisingly long sighting of a male bullfinch in his amazingly bright
plumage feasting on seed heads on the lawn.I think it might have been dandelion
seeds as they were long enough to create a sort of false moustache as he was
getting carried away with harvesting! A few minutes later a flash on the river
stones suggested a dipper which I had to confirm through my bins!It was a brief
sighting but the second one this week suggests that lasts years territory has
been maintained.
