Swifts in Bow Street

I counted 11 Swifts chasing about in a pack over Bow Street at sunset yesterday evening - very evocative against the pink and apricot coloured clouds and blue sky. It's the first evening this summer I've seen them doing this - I guess it's just about the first evening the wind has dropped enough!  The main regular colony is in the roof of Capel y Garn chapel in the centre of the village: usually about a dozen birds, though I haven't counted them yet this year.

On Saturday we're moving house to Penrhyncoch - hope there are resident Swifts there too!
