Five of us turned up for the monthly field trip, this time at the Welsh Wildlife Centre, or Teifi Marshes as some of us know it.
The walk was ably led by Nia Stephens, who started by taking us to the normally off-limits ringing area, where the ringers were mist netting. Some of us had our closest ever views of Reed Warblers and Robins, in the hand, and a chance to question the ringers. There was also a large, but very dead Grass Snake nearby.
It was a warm and sunny morning, and we achieved a respectable total for a June day of 27 species.
Many thanks to Nia, who showed such enthusiasm for her work on the reserve, and answered almost all the many questions that we threw at her (and promised to look up the rest)
