Aberaeron seawatch

I spent four hours this morning in mostly sunny conditions except for one hefty shower and a fresh south west wind.
A sample 15 minute count of Manx Shearwaters early on gave 1200 heading south, as was everything else. A steady passage of Gannets also, a rough count was 520 in total. A couple of hundred Kittiwakes was the best I could manage, as some were distant.
At one point a very large feeding raft formed: I did a count and got ca 8000 manxies, ca 70 Gannets and roughly the same number of Kittiwakes. All three species continued to move through after the raft dispersed.
Occasional little parties of small waders passed offshore, mostly too far out to identify, except for 5 Ringed Plover, 10 Dunlin, 2 Golden Plover and a Sanderling.
Odds and sods; 5 Fulmars, 3 Common Scoter, 3 Med Gulls and 3 Bottle-nosed Dolphins.
On the way home I called in at Llanon and got 135 Med Gulls. Manxies and Gannets still moving south here.
Yet more Med Gulls to finish, 142 on Blaendolau playing fields, plus 19 Pied Wagtails.
