Garganey

A female garganey and a black-tailed godwit were on the Marian Mawr pools at RSPB Ynys-hir this afternoon. It has been rather quiet recently on the reserve with water levels dropped on the lowland wet grassland in order to cut the rush growth with machinery. We hope to pump some water slowly off the pool system at Marian Mawr next week in order to expose a bit of mud and hopefully attract a few waders in.
