In
answer to the inquiry about what the seabirds off Borth are feeding on. Mid
August to about December is the traditional time when Herring shoals appear in
our area, the fish are generally full of roe until about mid October. Also
there could be Mackerel inshore, they have been in reasonable large Nos off Aber
in the last few weeks. There may also be Whitebait shoals around this time of
year. There were thousands of Shears rafting off Borth Head midday
today.
In
a completely different vein, over the last 30 years or so I have probably
encountered Sparrowhawks flying very low & fast in front of my car about 7
times, the last sighting was last year & was probably the longest lasting
about 3/4 of a mile. Just wondering how often other folk see
this?
