High tide at Ynyshir

A good variety of birds this morning, most seen from the Saltings hide. Apart from the usual Curlews and Oystercatchers, two Black-tailed and one Bar-tailed Godwit, which flew in together. 17 Dunlin, eight Ringed Plover and single Snipe and Knot.
A juv Peregrine flew upriver past the hide, as did a Kingfisher.
Wildfowl numbers on the increase: e.g 262 Barnacle Geese, quite a few Wigeon down the estuary and a flock of 16 Pintail flew upstream.
The very high tide brought lots of Meadow Pipits and alba Wagtails, plus 20 Little Egrets, flushed out of the creeks and channels.
Later I was joined in the hide by Jerry Moore, who had earlier found three Greenshank on the Clettwr.
