Kicked off with a spectacularly diving peregrine on top by monument, canada
goose and family of 5 mute swans on first bend of river. Then our highlight,
just before we got to the spot where we saw the dipper on sunday we saw
kingfisher swoop up from river level to perch on a dead branch. stayed there for
a while in perfect pose before flying off downstream at river level which was
below us so we had great view.
Nothing else really until we arrived back at
coast where we had pair of beautiful stonechat, couple of dunnock and a very
smart wheatear performed for us while stopped for a drink and topped off by
group of 4 choughs flying north.
The above account is from Paul Bennett, a visitor from the midlands, who was on the field trip last Sunday and enjoyed it, so decided to repeat the walk with his wife.
