Recent sightings

I am now back on line, so here is a brief summary of the reports that I have had that I couldn't deal with.

Tony Clark has been seeing many more Kingfishers than usual, including regularly on the Clarach brook and at five different locations on the Rheidol, one of which involved two together at Lovesgrove.

David Campion reports two Red Grouse on the high ground above the Teifi pools on the 10th: a very scarce bird in the county.

Yellow-browed Warbler must be one of the most sought after birds in the county, so Andre Marsh really hit the jackpot on Monday.  Not content with that, he also heard a distant Green Woodpecker and tells me that there were plenty of Lesser Redpolls and Bullfinches around as well.

Finally, an intriguing item from Elliot Montieth.  He was photographing birds from a boat off New Quay during the summer and looking through the photos later, found that one of them was of a tern with an orange bill!  Unfortunately too distant for i.d.
