Cors Caron and other bits and pieces

There were at least three Common Whitethroat (2 males, 1 female) at Cors Caron on Wednesday night, near Maes Llyn, but no sign of them yesterday. Also a Mallard with 7 ducklings, a single Curlew in front of the 'bog hide' and Sedge Warblers around the ponds in front of the hide. As a side note, Cors Caron is increasingly turning into a dog toilet, I guess the improved weather draws more dog walkers there - maybe a dog poo bin would be a good idea to convince at least some people to dispose of the stuff properly? Also several Sedge Warblers defending their territories at the northern end of the railway line and a kingfisher by the second bridge. At Brynamlwg pond, several Greylag families with goslings and a moorhen. Also a quite disappointing visit to Grogwynion where I would have expected a large number of migrants but overall quiet, with the highlight being a Dipper. Has anyone else noticed a substantial number of finches succumbing to what I assume to be trichomoniasis? We had Chaffinches, Greenfinches, a Bullfinch, Redpolls, and Siskins showing symptoms despite good hygiene at the feeders (but of course they also feed in other places) and I noticed a fluffed up Siskin at Cross Inn forest as well as a fluffed up Redpoll at the Cors Caron feeders which also looked to be affected.
