Moth

Harry, its a Large Yellow Underwing: Noctua pronuba.  Large,strong and dramatic when it flicks its wings open to reveal ochre yellow hindwings edged with black.  Used to appear in moth traps in their hundreds but everyone is reporting very much smaller numbers in the last few years which is a pity as it makes a good snack for a nightjar!
