Nightjars above Llanddewi Brefi

Last night I had a close encounter on Bryn Moel with a churring male which came in close when I clapped my hands and circled my parked car a couple of times. The female(?) was calling close by at the spot the male first emerged from. I would have loved to stay around longer and listen for others but the midges were driving me mad. Instead I drove slowly back to the tarmac, stopping now and again to briefly listen for more and heard another male churring in the distance on Bryn Coch.
