Another high tide on the Dyfi

John had found 18 Wigeon by the time I joined him at Ynyslas. Among the usual small waders I picked out an adult Curlew Sandpiper, still with red mottling on the underparts, and three juv Knot dropped in briefly.
We then joined Bob at the point: not a long stay due to the quite strong north-westerly blowing sand around and making viewing conditions quite uncomfortable. We only added three Sanderling here.
Back round the estuary side a juv Curlew Sand came in and we made the acquaintance of Edward O'Connor.
Three of us, minus Bob, continued on to Glandwr.  On the pool were 27 Black-tailed Godwits, then Edward alerted us to a Merlin which crossed the Leri from the direction of Aberleri fields and continued up the Dyfi valley at great speed.
