Ynyshir, Glandwr and Borth

A quick call at Aberystwyth for 32 Turnstones before meeting Bob at Ynyshir for a pleasant couple of hours in the Ynys Feurig hide, where we were joined by Roy Bamford.
Apart from Curlews, few waders came up on the tide, just 30+ Dunlin , six Snipe, two Bar-tailed Godwits, two Lapwings and a Redshank, and we heard a Whimbrel.
Lots of Swallows moving through and  two White Wagtails min among good numbers of Pied.  A Kingfisher lingered and on the river were at least 50 Wigeon and a Great Crested Grebe.
On Thursday near Glandwr I met a couple on holiday and today they were there again, and told me about a close encounter they had had with an Otter on the Marian Mawr pools yesterday.
Just Teal on the pool at Glandwr, but on the Leri were 31 Black-tailed Godwits and as I was watching them the juv Marsh Harrier worked its way along the embankment, right past them.
A quick look at the sea at Borth produced ca10 Common Scoter, three Sandwich Terns and four Red-throated Divers (opp Golden Sands caravan park).  Four Ringed plover on the beach there.
