Ynyslas and Glandwr

Dull and slightly misty at Ynyslas this morning, but there was not a breath of wind and no disturbance, so I counted the waders.
355 Dunlin, 78 Ringed Plover, 10 Golden Plover, Three Curlew Sandpipers, a Little Stint and a Black-tailed Godwit.
From four when I arrived, Sandwich Tern numbers built up to 41 on the falling tide.
To Glandwr, where Edward's Black-tailed Godwits still on the pool; my count was 30, along with three Dunlin and a Snipe.  A Kingfisher flew upriver.
Back on the road, looking inland there were large numbers of small birds on the wires.  The nearer group consisted of ca140 Linnets and a few Goldfinches, and further along were large numbers of hirundines. A quick count gave ca450,  the majority being Swallows with good numbers of House Martins and a few Sand Martins.
A quick look at the sea at Borth produced ca30 Common Scoter, a Bar-tailed Godwit flying south and a lone Manx Shearwater.
