LLanon and Llansantffraed

We had just begun our walk along the coast from Llanon towards Morfa Mawr Farm, when 12 white-fronted geese came into land on one of the stubble fields and remained there for the whole morning. Large, very mobile flock of skylarks also present - which, despite our best attempts to turn them into snow buntings - remained as skylarks. Linnets, goldfinches and a stonechat also seen, plus 2 chough and the leucistic oystercatcher.
We also had fantastic views of several bottle-nose dolphins, including a small group leaping completely out of the water.
Grey wagtail and rock pipit at the car park (the latter obligingly perching on Elaine's windscreen wipers).
Then onto Llansantffraed for wigeon (4), golden plover (80-100), ringed plover (10), curlew, redshank and turnstones, and the highlight of the day - a merlin chasing a linnet.
