LLANSANTFFRAED and LLANRHYSTUD

Another glorious morning found me at Llansantffraed.  A pair of Wigeon were just offshore and on the pebbles on the far side of the stream outfall were 56 Curlews and a number of Oystercatchers including the 'white' one. A few Gannets were far offshore.
A real highlight there were the butterflies on a clump of ivy along the lane leading to the shore: 9 Red Admirals, a Coma and 2 Painted Ladies. (The later are the subject of what should be a facinating programme on BBC4 next Monday at 9pm.)
Later at Llanrhystud, at the Pencarreg end, there 33 Mediterranean Gulls and a Wheatear.
