Just as an observation, personally I find it a shame not to see our grey partridge in the countryside. When I was a shepherd in Hampshire I well remember finding a freshly hatched brood - lots of little fluffy 'bumble bees' rushing around my feet.
Absolutely gorgeous, once seen never forgotten!
Incidentally, one could get into discussions as to introducing the red-legs, as well as pheasants, etc. just to shoot! Maybe another time.........
