An unfortunate encounter

The beautiful and delicate Jack Snipe you see in the photo has just suffered from being trodden on by this very inattentive Dumbo ie Me, whilst I was out checking water level gauges on Cors Fochno today. It looked unharmed but was clearly not unaffected as it   allowed me to pick it up.
I was surprised to find it had a leg ring and checking with  Tony Cross it turns out that it was one that he ringed in a field close to the Lerry boatyard in October 2012 and is at least 5 years old!
I hope it  survives but I'm not hopeful as it was reluctant to fly. Maybe you can be too well camouflaged for your own good?
