Aberystwyth and Llyn Oerfa

After taking our soon to the railway station this morning, Ian and I decided to spend some time in town.
We walked along the prom and around various footpaths and amassed a bird total of 30 species.

Highlights were 30 Turnstones, seven Purple Sandpipers (six opposite the castle and one by the wooden jetty), Kingfisher also at the wooden jetty, Black Redstart which flew from the castle to the college roof and gave us good views, and dabchick and Bullfinch seen from the footpath behind Morrisons.

We have since returned home to initially find eight Whooper Swans on the lake (seven adults), which later increased to 10.
