Llanerchaeron and Cross Inn Forest

A stunning calm sunny morning at Llanerchaeron today and the birds were certainly out in appreciation with 34 species recorded.  The highlights were Little Grebe, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Nuthatch, Siskin, Raven, Goldfinch and a male Goshawk.  It was circling above the stubble field and then slowly made its way north.
Later, at a blustery Cross Inn Forest, among 26 species were Chiffchaff, Stonechat, Goldcrest, Nuthatch, Mistle Thrush, Lesser Redpoll and again a male Goshawk circling above the second clearing.  Very possibly the one I found at Llanerchaeron earlier.
The morning ended with a Kestrel above Ty Gwyn pools.
