Aberystwyth

I was delighted to get my scope back after repair and what better place to test it than Castle Point.  Up to 17 Sandwich Terns were loitering on the rocks between fishing trips.  Two Shags were on the outer rocks (more usual in autumn), and one of three passing Whimbrel dropped in for a distant photo.
About 40 Manx Shearwaters were mostly well offshore, as were 12 Common Scoter and a few Gannets.
The highlight was a northward bound Great Northern Diver, still in winter plumage.
