Nightjars on Cors Fochno

Rather late in the season but John and I finally got our act together and headed to Cors Fochno last night.  At 10:10 the first Nightjar started churring, close to us, followed by a few fly-pasts.
We moved a short distance to more suitable habitat, where another bird was churring, then suddenly two birds appeared and treated us to a prolonged display, flying around us, often just yards away.  At one point one of them landed briefly on the footpath just a few yards from us.
Apart from the birds, the sight of John whirling round, trying to photograph them, kept me entertained.
We finished on a high with a Barn Owl, which took off from a fence and flew off across a field as we walked back to the car.
