ABERYSTWYTH'S PIED WAGTAIL ROOST

I assumed that the gathering of roosting birds in the little roadside trees beside the old White Horse pub was a winter phenomena. However, yesterday evening I noticed a number of Pied Wagtails flying towards the town centre from Park Avenue.
I wandered to the Upper Portland Street location and saw a number of birds on the roof-tops on either side of the road before they dropped down into the trees.
In the winter with the trees bare of leaves the birds can be counted (200+) but I had no idea of how big yesterday's gathering was.
