The
colour-ring combination is a close match for one of this year’s young birds
(Rt: Green/BTO Lt: White/Orange “5N” – the BTO ring is often hidden by the
ring above, the black inscription on the orange ring is hard to see except at
close range, and the similar bird with blue/BTO on its ring leg is an Anglesey
bird, so pretty conclusive). This bird was ringed by Tony as a provisional
female, one of a brood of three, at one of the nest-sites near Llanrhystud (ca
17 km). She has also been recorded at the communal roost between Clarach and
Borth, two days previously.
