Rapid Egret Count!

A trip on the 0930 train from Aber yesterday morning coincided with high tide in the Dyfi - an opportunity to observe the wealth of birds which were well dispersed along the tideline. Good numbers of waders were on the bank from the Pillbox to the Clettwr,  together with countless Canada Geese. Impossible to count most species except for the Little Egrets which came to 57!  Is this a record for a four minute count?  Undoubtedly a lot were missed. A very different scene to that of 30 years ago when sighting of a single bird was a 'red letter' observation.
