Pick of the birds found during a walk along Tanybwlch Bay this morning was a Whinchat by the ditch. Other migrants were three Wheatears on the beach and a continuous passage of hirundines; almost all Swallows early on, with quite a few House Martins with them as I was heading back. At one point there were ca70 Swallows feeding over Allt Wen.
A Kingfisher was perched on the dead tree by the river, and two Choughs were in a nearby field. On the river, three Goosanders and a Grey Wagtail.
Around 45 Med Gulls were in the harbour with another 24 on the beach. A final look in the harbour before leaving revealed a family party of two adult and five almost fully grown young Mute Swans.
