On his usual Sunday afternoon tour of the local lakes Chris Bird found 21 Goosanders (four males), a Goldeneye, three Tufted Ducks and 34 Mallard on Llyn Eiddwen.
On Llyn Fanod were another four Goldeneye.
Chris also remarked on the absence of winter thrushes in an area which usually hold good numbers at this time of the year.
