Afon Clettwr this morning

A walk up the Clettwr this morning produced the hoped-for flock of 8 Twite, seen a couple of days ago by those on the field trip. The birds were in bushes near the railway bridge but as soon as I got the bins on them they flew off and landed out on the saltmarsh. 3 Water Pipits and a Hen Harrier were also seen. On the way home I stopped off at Ynys Tachwedd fields and saw a male Merlin, 40+ Chaffinches as well as the usual flock of Stock Doves
