Cletwr

Arrived at the Cletwr as Andy James was leaving this morning and my walk was initially also rather unproductive - apart from a Merlin sitting on a distant embankment, and meeting Arfon half way along. On the way back however, a Water Pipit that Arfon had seen earlier flew back in to feed on the short riverbank turf, and a male Hen Harrier hunting over the Lodge Farm fields was very smart. The Golden Plover and Lapwing flocks were very mobile due to disturbance from wildfowlers on the estuary - and being flushed by the harrier.
