High tide at Ynys-hir

While Dick was at Glandyfi, Bob and I were some distance down the Dyfi, in the Ynys Feurig hide.  At least 35 Curlews and 19 Whimbrel mostly stayed over the other side of the railway, as 11 Dunlin, a Ringed Plover and a Black-tailed Godwit joined the Redshank and Lapwings on the pools.
Near the hide, singing groppers and Sedge Warbler remained unseen, but we did see our first Whitethroat near Ynys Edwin.
Still present from Dick's visit were the 300 or so Black-headed Gulls and the Great White Egret, and on the Marian Mawr pools were a male Shoveler and the most unexpected bird of the day, a Coot.

This wader had us both guessing, particularly as it never moved a muscle during the whole time we were watching it.  Despite the fact that it appeared to be slightly smaller than the nearby Redshanks, the only thing it could have been is a Spotted Redshank coming into summer plumage.
