Spent a half hour at Glandyfi just before dusk last night (Friday). Highlight was a male kestrel hunting over the main saltmarsh. I often think back to the 1980's when it was a fairly common in the area, e.g there were regularly 3 pairs at Ynys-hir, all nesting in boxes.
Other birds at Glandyfi included 2 kingfishers, single common and green sandpiper, 14 cormorants at the roost, and a single swallow.
The highlight of an early morning in Cwm Einion today produced good views of male and female goshawk, both birds being hassled by either ravens or carrion crows. A flock of 9 mistle thrush and a couple of song thrush but surprisingly still no redwing.
