More on the Tanybwlch Snow Bunting

Wednesday.  After checking the sea found two Ringed Plovers in the harbour.  Walked on towards Allt Wen and surprised by the amount of water on field .As I got to that end there were several mipits, female stonechat and one wheatear tucked down under the bank trying to shelter from the fresh wind.  Went round the lee of the hill where there were groups of mipits all hunkering down.  Retraced my footsteps and decided to scope through the oystercatchers, ducks and gulls on the floods and was amazed to find this magnificent bird who seemed to be quite happy getting his feet wet
what a treat

The above photographs are part of a set taken by Professor Miles Richardson of Derby who luckily happened to be on hand when Paul found the bird.  The amount of white in the wing shown in the flight shot shows it to be an adult male: a feature noticed by Paul yesterday and both of us this morning.
