Highlight of the Ynyslas section of the WeBS count today was a long-tailed duck between the brick house and the estuary mouth and five goldeneye which flew into the Dyfi. Otherwise, fairly quiet with a skin-chafing easterly breeze not pleasant at all.
Yesterday, at RSPB Ynys-hir there was a whooper swan, a spotted redshank, 378 barnacle geese and the feral red-breasted goose with a few bar-tailed godwit, grey plover and two kingfishers.
